Our new single – Get involved!!

It’s been decided that our next single release will be the final release from the ‘Truth & Faith’ album and that single is going to be Head Over Heels.

Head Over Heels will be released on June 25th and will feature I’m Not Listening as the b-side.

We’re looking to get plenty more fan involvement in the new single release and we’re offering every one the opportunity to design the artwork for the single, we’ll then pick our favourites and run a poll on the website for people to vote for the artwork they want to be used.

We’d love as many entries as possible to give us the best options, it can be absolutely anything you think is relevant to the song or relevant to the band or any of the lyrics that are in the track.  It can be colourful, it can be black and white, it can be a photo, it can be something you’ve designed, it’s entirely up to every person.

If you haven’t yet heard the track then Head Over Heels can be heard below…

All we ask is that the image is sent to us as a jpeg, psd or png file and it should be a square image at least 1500 x 1500.

The winning artwork will be used for the single release and will appear on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc.  It may also be potentially used for merchandise i.e. t-shirts etc

The person who provides the winning artwork will also be given an 8″ x 8″ canvass print of the winning artwork signed by all the band.

To enter your artwork simply email your designs to info at thewordsmusic.co.uk with the subject ‘Head Over Heels Artwork’.  All entries should be sent to us by March 31st at the latest.  Once we have selected the best few entries we will put them up on the site and get everyone to vote for their favourite.

Help us fund our new album & support Willow Wood Hospice with Pledge Music

We’ve been writing, rehearsing and fine tuning brand new material and we’re looking for funding to help make the second album a reality.

We’ve teamed up with PledgeMusic to help us raise the money to record the album but at the same time get all ours fans more involved in the process of recording the record through regular updates and also ‘exclusives’ which our fans can pledge on to be a part of the album.

If you visit http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/thewordsmusic/ on the right hand side of the screen, we have items you can pledge on, ranging from signed CD’s to have your name in the album credits to house concerts. Everyone who pledges will receive a copy of our new album as soon as it’s recorded and ready to go, which will allow you to have it a few months before it’s released to the general public.

There is one other huge reason why raising money through PledgeMusic is hugely important to every member of The Words and that is the charitable side. As part of this project we have chosen to support a local charity that is very dear to the bands hearts and that is Willow Wood Hospice.

Willow Wood Hospice in Ashton-under-lyne which specialises in palliative care for those suffering with life threatening illnesses. Our guitarist (Neil) recently lost his mother Denise to cancer, Denise regularly voluteneered at Willow Wood Hospice right up until a few weeks before she died.

Every single exclusive you pledge on from the right hand side will mean a percentage of that money goes to the Willow Wood Hospice charity. Before we reach our target figure, 5% of all money will go to the Willow Wood Hospice. After we reach our target, 15% will go to Willow Wood.

So please help us to raise money for our second album, support a charity very close to our hearts and also get involved in the creation of album number 2.

To pledge please visit http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/thewordsmusic/, please share this with your friends, with anyone who loves new music and with anyone wishing to help support Willow Wood Hospice as well.
