"I knew I was in for a treat when The Words quoted their influences as ‘sambuca, love and television’. With a fantastic charismatic front-man who bore some (loose) similarities to Sean Rider and threw himself into the songs with guts and gusto, the band clearly have a connection and the tunes to compete with any of their contemporaries. Tunes over-flowing with hooks and melodic vocals provided a most enjoyable set."

"What makes the group so appealing though is not only their diversity and mix of different sounds but the stark rawness that they boast. Perhaps sourced directly to the vocalist’s raw accent, they have a sense of originality about them that is reminiscent of the Kings of Leon and Franz Ferdinand."

"Whether The Words are sitting back and giving it calm and controlled or whether they're lashing out with big riffs and frenzied crescendos they seem to be able to hold it all beautifully together and create an inoffensive yet compelling electric 'storm' of sound. "

- Pied Piper Records reviewing Drum for a Soul
"Awesome. Really great track. Original, great vocals, builds really well as the song moves on. All in all a top unsigned track which should be in the hands of the A&R guys at Sony/Columbia/Universal etc."
- The-Muzic reviewing FAG
"Its hard to describe just how CD quality accurate this vocal was. Every dip, peak and trough was matched, and it is such a rare sight to see a singer deliver so fascinatingly in the live arena."

"You could talk about Reni or Keith Moon, but neither of them could even come close to him, could they? And he is only fifteen!"
- Mark Elliot - Monkey See Monkey Do Productions
"Our drummer said he's glad we didn't go on after The Words, because that kid would've made him look bad! He must be the coolest kid in his school."
- Maz - The Vortex
"....everyday lyrics woven around fantastically simple, infectious melodies that have you singing along after just a few listens. A masterclass for the lyrically clumsy .."
- Kim Etheridge - Manchester is Music
"Amazingly catchy tunes and solid drum work combined with surprisingly sit-up-and-take-notice vocals made this band one of the tightest I have seen..."
- John @ Leef Promotions
"The Words are.... tight as a unit and fully equipped with 70's style harmonies and modern drum parts, this with a mix of catchy choruses and instrumentals.."
