Demons & Siren released today!

Our new single ‘Demons’ has been released today and is now available to buy on iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/demons-single-single/id499274635 along with the other track ‘Siren’

Demons has been receiving lots of airplay on radio stations including Kerrang Radio, BBC Radio Manchester and Salford city radio and we’ve been getting some great feedback for the song.

It would mean a huge amount to us if you could buy a copy and leave us a good rating and maybe even a nice review.

Thanks to everyone who continues to support the band, it means a huge amount to us.

Demons / Siren – Artwork

As most of you already know out new single (a double a-side of Demons and Siren) is being released on Feb 13th, this will be our last release through Phoenixx Records.  The release will be available on all major download sites but not available physically.

The artwork for the single is ready to go and we like it and we’d love to know what you think.  The artwork was done by an artist called Luke Marsh.  Leave us a comment and let us know what you think….

More information on our upcoming plans will be on this site soon so be sure to keep checking back for updates.

We’re pleased to announce our new single will be released on February 13th and is a double a side of Demons & Siren.

We have a single launch gig booked for February 11th at the Deaf Institute in Manchester, ticket details will be released shortly.  We’re currently booking more tour dates around the release so keep an eye on our upcoming events on the homepage.

For now you can enjoy our performance of Siren live in Stuttgart from August 2011….

We were interviewed for BBC Introducing in Manchester last week to talk about the album, what’s next for the band and an announcement on the next single which will be a double a side of Demons & Siren and will be released on February 13th 2012.

Our first single from our debut album is officially out and available to buy.  Everybody’s With You and acoustic b-side My Receiver can be bought from all major download stores, streamed via Spotify and generally available for everyone to get hold of.

Everybody’s With You review – Tasty Fanzine

The Words have had their work featured in a Windows 7 promotional campaign, a Playstation 3 game and used by Mercedes Benz for their mixtape promotion. Not too precious with their material then. But this title tracks doesn’t suffer too badly from this commercial enterprise, cannily melding James and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, exactly as the press release states. 7/10

Everybody’s With You is one of the single’s of the week on IndieLondon.co.uk this week.  Here’s a review of the single….

THE WORDS – EVERYBODY’S WITH YOU: Manchester four-piece The Words release their new single, Everybody’s With You ahead of the Truth & Faith LP that’s due to follow on November 14. The band pride themselves on hitting a musical vibe that embraces the sensibilities of two of their favourite bands, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and James, and evidence of both is here in the lead single and its B-side, My Receiver. Of the two, Everybody’s With You offers more of a statement of intent… unfolding amid Steven Draper’s no-nonsense vocals and lyrics (“I’m a liar, I’m a liar”) and building towards a powerful, BRMC-influenced chorus. The guitar work, too, is pretty darn good. But they show a tender side on B-side My Receiver, that’s similarly assured and more in keeping with the emotion-filled song-writing of James. It’s an acoustic offering that gradually layers in the elements and which offers a moving contrast to the power they exhibit on the lead single. It would seem this band is poised to go places.
